DESCRIPTION
Cyornis tickelliae, Tickell’s blue flycatcher is a small passerine bird in the flycatcher family. The name commemorates the British ornithologist Samuel Tickell who collected in India and Burma. This is a species which breeds in tropical Asia, from the Indian Subcontinent eastwards to Bangladesh and western Myanmar. blue upperparts and orange-and-white underparts, with the most orange on the chest and the throat. Male is more intensely-colored overall than the female. They are found in dense scrub to forest habitats. feeding on insects, worms, and other invertebrates. Locally named Tickell’s Nil masimara or simply Tickell’s masimara.
